You were recommended by Alex Elferink from the serpentine club I have signed myself up for what will be an epic challenge and I am hoping that you may help me with your expertise.
My challenge is the ultimate Ironman challenge which is the uk 70.3 uk full ironman ireland 70.3 and the wales full IM, as well as the long Alpe d’Huez triathlon, there will be other events as well I am sure.
My swim is poor ( brutally called a disaster) cycle is ok hit 1.12 for 40k in the London tri in the worst of the weather, and my run hasn’t been what I want it to be. If we can arrange a time to talk that would be great.
Hi there,
To anyone thinking of doing a video stroke analysis my advice is go for it! Yesterday, I did my first video session with Julian Nagi in London. It was great, really great! In 2hrs I learned more than in my last 2 years of going to group swim classes at my local pool. On my plane back to Switzerland I quickly made my own notes of what I learned as the session was packed with highly useful and “specific to me” information. I liked Julian’s professional style. He’s quick and very focussed respecting you and your objectives. I’m a runner, started swimming 2 years ago from a practically zero level and have one season of sprint triathlons under my belt. I had reached a plateau in my swimming, not improving despite the frustrated efforts of my local pool coach. What I particularly appreciated and needed so badly was a coach who can explain a highly technical sport in a language that speaks to me. Julian hit the nail on the head. Furthermore, he could combine that lightbulb moment with selecting the specific drill from his toolbox that would work for me. Julian could do this as he knew what type of swimmer and personality of was and what would likely work with me. I was amazed and was immediately making improvements. I returned home motivated and boosted in the confidence that my targeted action plan will allow me to make that leap forward! My first Olympic distance tri, here I come!

Hi,
I am looking for technique clinic for my nine years old daughter. She is training in our local pool. However, her technique is far from satisfying. She rocks a lot in her free style and hardly can push herself up in fly. She is nearing age of ten. Do you coach children?
Do you have time available during summer holiday?
Hi Julian,
I suffer from swimmers shoulder (bicep tendonitis) which is severely limiting my fitness regime and frequency of swims.
It’s an old recurring problem, despite physio etc and I now wonder whether poor technique is the source.
Do you think you could assist?
Hi Robert, very sorry to hear about your shoulder. Its a common injury i see with many swimmers.
There are a number of things that could cause this and the way you are swimming could be one of them. Video analysis is a very powerful tool in identify the root causes of issues like this, particularly if its a recurring problem ,because there is still something you are doing that isstill aggravating it.
Commonly swimmers with poor technique tend to put quite a lot of stress through their weak shoulder muscles which usually ends up in some form of tendonitis.
If you are interested in coming in for an analysis just drop me an email and i will send you some dates.
Very best
Julian
I had a video analysis with Julian recently. I knew there was something not right as I’ve been competing in triathlons for many years but my swim times never come down. However I was not prepared for the results! Julian was very kind and told me there were some good things about my stroke, but there was a lot wrong too, however seemed confident that they could be corrected. I was a little nervous about the session, it had been a long time since I had been to anything like that, but he put me at ease very quickly. He took me through the video’s and showed me examples of other swimmers, stroke flow and rhythm are something I need to concentrate on. He showed me how to use my finis tempo trainer and has set me 8 weeks of programmes , which is great, lovely to the pool with a session in mind.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Acton with Julian and would recommend this to anyone who needs help with their swimming!

Hi Julian,
A friend of mine recommended you following a session this morning (Andrew Devic).
What availability do you have in the next couple of weeks for a session.
Cheers
