Swim Smooth’s Acton squad train at The Park Club’s fantastic outdoor heated 25m swimming pool, a real luxury in West London!. If you can swim 200m of freestyle why not come along and join us? We have lanes suitable for novice swimmers, improving triathletes and strong master’s swimmers. We’re famous for providing high quality sessions for all levels of swimmer using Swim Smooth’s coaching system. If you’ve attended a video analysis session with Julian or watched one of Swim Smooth’s award winning DVDs, you’ll already be familiar with many of the drills and skills we use during the sessions.

The club has a thriving triathlon and swimming community and we welcome all abilities. Due to the amazing club facilities we also hold 3 sprint triathlons, a duathlon and 2 kids aquathlons every year. Through our partnership with British Gas we have also been lucky enough to host Olympic gold medallists Duncan Goodhew and Becky Adlington over the past 2 years.
Each squad session is run by our head coach Julian Nagi.
Pay As You Go
We operate a Pay-As-You-Go payment system with each session costing between £9 or £10. Need to miss a session or go on holiday? No problem, you won’t be paying for it! Just buy a 10 or 20 session card ( £100 for 10 or £180 for 20), keep it in your swim bag and bring it to every session and coach will tick them off.
Squad Structure And Sessions
In a given week we like to operate a regular cycle or structure which ensures that you know what to expect from each session and equally what benefits that session will give you from a fitness and technique perspective.
This is what you can expect at the various sessions throughout the week:
Monday “Sizzler” swim – 60mins / 1030am- 11.30am. (Intermediate –advanced)
– This will be the perfect way for you to wake up your swimming week. The “sizzler” session will be a mix of technique work, fitness, speed work, CSS work(critical swim speed), stroke rate,open water skills and a whole lot more. The session will be aimed at experienced swimmers who can comfortably swim front crawl or have some kind of swimming experience. If you want to get really swim fit and improve your stroke then this could be the session for you.
Going Long swim session – 90mins / 10.30am – 12.
– This is an advanced squad for those who are training for open waters swims, Olympic distance triathlons through to Ironman distances. The minimum requirement for this session is to be able to swim 1000m continuously. This will be a very challenging session for experienced swimmers.
Triathlon swim Squad/ 8-9pm – 60mins
– On going
Technique & swim fitness ( beginners – intermediate)
– This is a relaxed technique & aerobic fitness session aimed less experienced swimmers. The session will be relaxed and fun and aimed at swimmers who can comfortably swim 200m full front crawl continuously. The focus will be on creating a team environment in which to improve technique and fitness.
Triathlon swim Squad/ 7-8pm – 60mins
– On going
Each squad would contain no more than 15 registered swimmers to prevent overcrowding in lanes.
