Big “Thank you” Team

December 19, 2012 by admin 3 Comments

Hi Guys, with Christmas now upon us I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone that ive worked with for their efforts this year.

It truly has been a brilliant year for  Team Nagi, success has been achieved right  across the board and ive had some magical coaching moments for many different reasons. Ive experienced a huge amount of personal reward from seeing my athletes do great things at all levels. This includes the newbie swimmers or triathletes I work with right through to those that are chasing World championship places or podium finishes. For me my coaching has  always been about big a journey can I take an athlete on no matter what their ability, the goal of any coach is to keep improving the athletes they work with and I hope to continue to do that with all you in 2013.

So what will coach be doing over the Christmas period? Well firstly i will be taking a week long break from coaching and heading back home to Cardiff to see the family. Im looking forward to it but also looking forward to 2013, the reason being is because I feel there will be even  greater success achieved by all of you. There’s  big momentum building up with a lot of people that I am working with and you continue to develop and grow on a daily basis so 2013 could be a break through year for many.

With November being a pretty quiet month there  were only 2 race results to report, but boy were they worthy. Two of my ladies really came of age with outstanding personal bests at Ironman and marathon distances. I just want to give a huge shout out to Lizzie Currie and Linda Blakely who I think put in their best race performances ever. Firstly Linda Blakely raced at Ironman Arizona and smashed her PB with an amazing 11 hours 31mins to put her into 16th out of 127 athletes in her age group. Lizzie Currie set her sight on beating her previous best marathon time of 3hr 36mins and posted a superb 3hrs 24mins at the Florence marathon. Both athletes had to overcome big hurdles in the lead up to both races but came through with flying colours.

Most of you have been asking about the Team Nagi kit for 2012 and I can assure you the kit is coming although it has taken a while ! Apparently im due to receive some samples this week before it goes live online for you to purchase directly. Watch this space.

So many people to thank, this includes my swimmers, my triathletes, my runners, my  Swim Smooth colleagues and my British Gas crew…you really are all amazing. Your enthusiasm and commitment is what continually keeps me inspired to be a better coach so please keep on doing what you do best.

Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas & New Year from Team Nagi HQ !

Julian

No Julian, it’s a big THANK YOU to you! I came to you a little over two months ago, albeit as an okay swimmer, but not being able to swim more than two lenths before giving up. Now you’ve got me swiming almost half-mile non-stop! So for that I truly thank you, and although I may not become one of your ‘ironman’ ladies, I will definitely give the Park Club triathlon a go one day! Your passion and dedication to the coaching, for me, is without doubt encouraging and inspirational, and I look forward to becoming a better swimmer with you next year. Thank you again Julian………..it’s been great!

    Happy Christmas & New Year.

    Very best wishes.

    Chrissie

Reading this article has just gave me goose bumps!!

Without you Julian i would not have achieved not only one but two Ironman’s this year. You have drove me,inspired me and kept me motivated all the way and i am too incredibly excited for 2013. Just over a year ago my swimming was poor to say the least and i had not even done a triathlon. Today i sit here with a few under my belt and inspired to want to coach! If i turn out half as good of the coach you are i will be happy.

See you in the squad tonight for another awesome swim!
